What this does: Connects TikTok for Business (tiktokglobal_int) to AppsFlyer so you can measure app installs, re-engagements, and in-app events from your TikTok campaigns.

STEP 1 — ACTIVATE THE INTEGRATION

1. In AppsFlyer, go to Collaborate > Partner Marketplace in the side menu.

   - To edit an existing integration: Go to Collaborate > Active Integrations instead.

2. Search for TikTok for Business and select it.

3. Click Set up integration.

4. On the integration page, select the app you want to integrate.

5. Turn on the Activate partner toggle. Keep this toggle on for as long as you work with TikTok.

STEP 2 — INTEGRATION TAB SETTINGS

Advanced Privacy (iOS apps only):

When you activate the integration, Advanced Privacy is ON by default — only aggregated, anonymous data is shared. Turning it OFF sends postbacks based on your configuration. Note: TikTok warns that keeping it ON may underreport events.

TikTok App ID (Optional but recommended):

1. Get your TikTok App ID from TikTok Ads Manager.

2. Enter it in the TikTok App ID field in AppsFlyer.

3. To add multiple IDs: enter the first, press Enter, then type the next.

Default Postbacks:

- This partner only (default): Sends postbacks only for TikTok-attributed users.

- All media sources including organic: Sends postbacks for all users. TikTok recommends this for better optimization.

Install Attribution Windows:

1. Set the Install click-through lookback window (1-23 hours or 1-30 days). TikTok recommends 7 days.

2. (Optional) Turn on Install view-through attribution and set window to 1-24 hours. TikTok recommends 1 day.

Reinstall Attribution (Optional):

Turn on Reinstall attribution to track users who reinstall your app. Uses same settings as install attribution — no separate window needed.

Re-engagement Attribution:

1. Set the Re-engagement click-through lookback window (1-23 hours or 1-30 days). TikTok recommends 7 days.

2. (Optional) Turn on Re-engagement view-through attribution and set window to 1-24 hours. TikTok recommends 1 day.

  1. Set the Re-engagement window (1-23 hours, 1-90 days, or Lifetime).

  2.    - Important: If you had retargeting campaigns in the legacy integration, turn this back ON — it defaults to OFF.

Ignore Active Users for Retargeting (Optional):

1. Turn on Ignore active users for retargeting.

2. Set the Inactivity window — users who launched the app within this period won't count for re-engagement.

In-App Event Postbacks:

1.Turn on In-app event postbacks.

2. Click Add event to map your app events to TikTok events.

3. For each event, fill in:

   - AppsFlyer event: The event name from your app (e.g., "purchase").

   - Mapped to partner event: Choose a pre-defined TikTok event, or select Custom to send as-is. (Custom events are for reporting only, not optimization.)

   - Sending option: This partner only OR All media sources including organic. TikTok recommends "All media sources."

   - Data to send: No values & no revenue (default), Values & no revenue, or Values & revenue. TikTok recommends "Values & revenue."

   - (Optional) Click Add condition to add filters.

Click Save integration.

STEP 3 — ATTRIBUTION LINK TAB

No action needed. Attribution links are not used for TikTok (Advanced SRN). TikTok handles its own attribution using the settings in Step 2.

STEP 4 — COST TAB (Optional — ROI360 required for cost data)

1. Go to the Cost tab and turn on Get cost data.

2. Click Log in to TikTok Ads.

3. Log into your TikTok account in the window that opens and approve the required permissions.

4. Close the TikTok window after you see the success message. Your account will appear under Connected accounts.

5. Under Advertiser account IDs, enter your TikTok Advertiser ID and click Add.

   - To find your Advertiser ID: In TikTok Business Manager, go to Users > Members and look under your advertiser account.

   - You can add up to 30 Advertiser IDs.

6. Click Save Cost.

Note: If migrating from the legacy integration, disable the Cost toggle in bytedanceglobal_int to avoid duplicate cost data.

STEP 5 — AD REVENUE TAB (Optional)

Use this tab to send ad revenue data back to TikTok for campaign optimization. To pull Pangle ad revenue data, use the separate Pangle (ad revenue) partner integration.

STEP 6 — PERMISSIONS TAB (Optional)

Control what data TikTok for Business can access and what actions they can take. Note: Permissions remain active even if the integration is deactivated, until you manually turn them off.

SETTING UP FOR AGENCIES

If you're an agency setting up TikTok on behalf of an advertiser:

1. Go to Configuration > Partner Marketplace.

2. Find and select TikTok for Business.

3. Enter the TikTok App ID.

4. Enter your Agency TikTok Account ID (this separates agency traffic from the advertiser's).

5. Click Save Integration.

Important agency limitations:

- The advertiser must activate TikTok for Business on their side first.

- Attribution lookback windows are view-only for agencies.

- Agencies cannot turn on Advanced Privacy settings.

- Agencies can only configure in-app event postbacks if the advertiser has granted permission.

- NEVER share a TikTok Business Account ID between an advertiser and agency.

MEASURING APP ACTIVITY FROM NON-APP CAMPAIGNS (Web to App)NOT CURRENTLY USED BY ARAGON

If your TikTok ad leads to a web page rather than an app store, do the following in TikTok Ads Manager:

1. Go to your TikTok ad campaign and click Edit ad.

2. Under Tracking > App events, select your app.

3. Click Save.

4. Repeat for all relevant ads in your campaign.

DEEP LINKING: NOT CURRENTLY USED BY ARAGON

TikTok supports deep linking and deferred deep linking. Three ways to access deep link data:

- Unified Deep Linking (UDL): TikTok clicks include a deep_link_value field automatically.

- GCD (Get Conversions Data) API: Recommended for real-time SDK-level conversion data.

- Custom logic: Use campaign/ad set names or other attribution parameters to route users.

TROUBLESHOOTING — App Shows "Pending Verification" on TikTok

This happens when Aggregated Advanced Privacy (AAP) is enabled, blocking organic postbacks TikTok needs to verify your app.

To fix it:

1. Temporarily disable AAP in your AppsFlyer app-level settings.

2. Also disable AAP in the TikTok partner integration configuration.

3. In Postbacks, set to All Media Sources, including Organic.

4. Wait for TikTok to receive at least one install or in-app event postback.

5. Once received, your app updates to "Verified" on TikTok automatically.

6. After verification, you can re-enable AAP if needed.

Note: This guide covers the current TikTok for Business integration (tiktokglobal_int). The legacy integration (bytedanceglobal_int) was deprecated on March 20, 2024.
